Dan began making cars go faster in the early '60's

 Dan began builidng championship winning race cars

and engines professionally,as a fabricator and
engine builder for RAMCHARGERS in
Detroit, Michigan in 1968

 

 

 

 

 
 
In the mid '70's Dan built a
ARCA Late Model Stock Car
which he raced at the half-mile oval,
Toledo Speedway
were it was a formidable competitor
 
Dan owned Van Auken Racing in the early 1980's
building offshore race boats, oval track cars and drag race cars.
 
Dan was a SCCA Professional Racing competitor in 1984, 1985 and 1986
 
In 1987 Dan joined International Motor Sports Association (IMSA)
as a car builder and crew chief for various teams.
 
In 1993 he formed
Wheel To Wheel Racing
to head Pontiacs re-entry in to
IMSA endurance racing with the legendary F-body. 
 
Wheel to Wheel Racing won numerous 
team and driver championships.
Wheel to Wheel Racing won the
 IMSA Endurance Racing Manufacturers Championship
FIVE times for General Motors Pontiac Division. 
 
Dan also provided technical and parts support to the other
Pontiac road race teams for many years.
